Incoming Student Checklist

Take the necessary steps to ensure a smooth experience.

Find everything you’ll need to know about passports, visas, arranging travel, health clearance, financial considerations, housing, meals, daily life, academic expectations and more.

Important Action Steps for International Students

1 Start planning at least six months in advance.
2 Apply! See Adelphi’s admission requirements and fill out the admissions application for undergraduate or graduate level international students.
3 If you’ve been accepted, fulfill your I-20 Requirements and make your acceptance deposit.
4 Register for classes with an academic adviser.
5 Register for International Student Orientation.
6 Apply for on-campus housing or look into off-campus housing options. 
7 Apply for a visa (if required).
8 Obtain (or renew) your passport.
9 Submit health clearance forms. Apply for required health insurance.
10 Sign up for an optional meal plan (required for resident students).
11 Pay tuition and other fees.
12 Let the Office of International Student Services know when you will be arriving on campus.
13 Once on campus, attend our mandatory orientation program and our campus orientation workshop series.
14 Complete the immigration check-in procedure with the Office of International Student Services.
